The Daffodil Festival of Negrileasa, promoted as part of an international project
The event at the Negrileasa Daffodil Meadow was organized by the Intercommunity Development Association Moții, Țara de Piatră, lasted one day, and had two components: a workshop and a local-international outdoor picnic.
The workshop took place on May 22, 2025, in the protected natural area of the Negrileasa Daffodil Meadow. During the event, we aimed to mobilize young people from the localities of the Moții, Țara de Piatră microregion and volunteer organizations to raise community awareness—both among locals and tourists—regarding biodiversity conservation within the reserve, through direct interactions between participants.
The event was attended by delegations from our international partners in Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania, along with representatives of partner organizations, the City Halls of Alba Iulia and Zlatna, students from the Horea, Cloșca și Crișan Middle School in Brad (Hunedoara County), the Avram Iancu National College in Câmpeni (Alba County), the Avram Iancu National College in Ștei (Bihor County), Ion Agârbiceanu Middle School in Bucium (Alba County), Avram Iancu Middle School and Corneliu Medrea High School in Zlatna (Alba County), members of the Aurarii, Bucium, and Doina Ampoiului folk ensembles from Zlatna, and representatives of local authorities from Bucium Commune and Ștei Town, Bihor County.
As part of the event, together with representatives of the TRASCĂU CORP Zlatna Tourism and Ecology Association, the administrator of the reserve—whose activities focus on mountain tourism and biodiversity protection—we participated in thematic workshops.
Together with the engaged youth volunteers, we offered daffodil-shaped pins to participants who pledged not to pick daffodils from the reserve, promoting respectful behavior toward the environment.
