PLASTICFREE Expands Across Europe with the YMCA Project

The PLASTICFREE movement continues to grow, reaching new horizons thanks to the European project Y.M.C.A.. As of today, PLASTICFREE takes flight to Spain, Lithuania, Czechoslovakia, Romania, and Bulgaria, spreading its mission of environmental awareness beyond borders.

A crucial role in this expansion was played by the association “Friends for Sandra”, which, through Giovanni Dal Cero, helped involve PLASTICFREE in this meaningful initiative. The event kicked off with an awareness session, where participants engaged in discussions on sustainability and plastic reduction. This was followed by a shared lunch, reinforcing the spirit of collaboration, and later, an inspiring “touristic ecological walk” in Verona, combining cultural exploration with environmental consciousness.

The participants received a warm welcome in Verona, with a special greeting from Dr. Roberto Bechis, President of AMIA, and Dr. Lisa Lanzoni from the Town of Verona. Their support added value to the initiative, emphasizing the importance of collective action in the fight against plastic pollution.

Guests and partners of “Friends for Sandra” expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn about PLASTICFREE’s mission. Inspired by the experience, they are determined to bring these principles to their home countries, working towards a more sustainable future.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Franco Zanella and Roberto Micheletti, who guided the visiting groups through Verona, as well as to the dedicated volunteers who joined the initiative. Special appreciation is also extended to Gabriele Tomelleri, President of “Friends for Sandra,” and Franco Trivellin, whose invaluable collaboration made this event possible.

This international gathering highlights the power of community-driven environmental efforts. With every new country embracing the PLASTICFREE mission, the vision of a cleaner planet becomes ever more achievable. 🌍💙♻️
